Off to Oregon

Last weekend, Josh, his best friend Justin, Abi and Brady headed to Ashwood, Oregon to visit Ferryboat Grandma and Grandpa on the farm. The kids had a great time hanging out with Grandma, while Josh and Justin took advantage of the free time to photograph the beautiful landscape and explore some new areas. Nattie and I stayed home and despite my very grandiose plans to get things organized around the house, I failed miserably.  I ended up getting sick and spent much of the weekend in bed - at least I only had one kid at home instead of three! :)

Here are just a few pictures from their time in Oregon (thanks Justin!):

Horseback Riding

Abi was the lucky recipient of four private horseback riding lessons, courtesy of Mom & Dad (and Groupon). She recently finished up her lessons and immediately wanted to sign up for more.

Meanwhile, B, Nattie and I hung out and had fun playing with iPhones! :)

Goodbye First Grade!

First grade brought new friends and new experiences for Abi. She had a good year which included keeping quite the social calendar.  Her favorite subjects continue to be drama, art, music and of course, recess.

First Day of First Grade

During Abi's last week of school, they had a end-of-the-year party.  First, the kids each gave a rose to their teacher, Mrs. Angel.  As they presented their roses, they told Mrs. Angel what they liked most about her. It was just precious to listen to their comments. We feel so blessed to have had great teachers so far!

Next, they gave Mrs. Angel a watercolor picture that they all secretly made for her. She loved it!

Abi and Mrs. Angel - we will definitely miss her next year!

Father's Day 2013

A few family pictures to commemorate Father's Day 2013

Some of the homemade gifts for Daddy

After our family celebration, we headed to Remlinger Farms to pick some strawberries.  It was pretty warm out so Nattie and I spent most of our time hanging out in the car while Josh and the kids picked LOTS of berries. They came home and spent the most of the afternoon turning them into jam. Thank goodness since I make at least one peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day!

Later that afternoon, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner where we celebrated Father's Day with the Drevniak clan.

Nattie was already sleeping when we got around to taking pictures!

Garden of Many Things Play

Every year, each class at Abi's elementary school performs a class play which is written and performed by the students. Parents are invited to watch, along with several other classes. This year Abi's class planted and maintained a garden so they kept the theme going by creating a play about what they learned and grew. Abi played the role of the radish :)

First Words

Nattie has started talking and her first word was "Dada".  Go figure! :) I think it's time to start working with her on those "ma" sounds.
