Happy 1st Birthday Natalie!

A year ago today, our family grew from four to five with the addition of our baby girl. She is such a little bundle of joy and completes our family in a way I could have never imagined.

A few things I want to remember as my baby girl turns one:
* She continues to have a personality and temperament which is a middle-of-the-road mix of Abi and Brady. Overall, she has pretty easy-going personality but can have a flair for the dramatics like her sister.  On the other hand, she has an energy level like her brother, can have a bit of a temper but loves to smile and laugh.

* Natalie is very perceptive. In an attempt to keep Nattie out of trouble, we usually try to keep the bathroom door closed as well as the baby gate closed at the bottom of the stairs. As soon as someone walks through the gate or comes out of the bathroom, she is the first one to crawl over and make sure it is closed.

* Natalie loves being outside.  Her favorite thing to do is go to the park and swing.

* Like the other kids, she is not a picky eater. The only thing that she doesn't seem to like is apples. Any time she sees food in someone else's hands, she thinks it is for her and starts whining. She is a good little eater!

* She loves her sister and brother and tries to get their attention all the time.  Her face lights up when  she can make one of them laugh.

* Natalie is a good sleeper. She usually sleeps about 12 hours a night (generally 7:30 - 7:30). She has a bedtime routine which consists of Josh or I laying her down in her crib, she then rolls over, sits up, grabs the crib bars, stands up and wants to play for a few minutes with us before settling down and sleeping.  This usually consists of tickling which creates lots of laughter :)

* Current nicknames include Nattie, Nattie-Nu, Kazoo, Stinky, Bugs, Buggy and Peach

Our day in pictures:
First picture of the morning

Ferryboat Grandma made the trip from Oregon to celebrate Natalie's birthday.
As you can see, Natalie loves to play with Grandma first thing in the morning!

Breakfast!

And then it was nap time...

Afterwards she watched the Seahawks game with Daddy.

When the cheering got a bit too rambunctious, Grandma took the kids out for lunch and a visit to the library.

Back at home, we had snack time...A Birthday Pop!

It was a big hit
...and she loved every last bite!

Another cute birthday card from Abi.
She has been saving this necklace for Natalie since I was pregnant.

Lots of helping hands

Love the looks on Abi's and Brady's faces in this picture

Time to clean up and head to bed...

Good night my sweet baby girl!

Nattie's First Birthday Party!

This weekend we celebrated Natalie's first birthday. We decided to have her party at a local park so the older kids would have a space to play and run around. I had envisioned having a BBQ and hoped for nice (or even decent) weather but unfortunately this was not the case. We had a cold, record-setting day of rain! Thank goodness we had the pavilion to stay warm and the rain showers still couldn't keep the kids off the playground so all in all, it worked out and my baby girl had a good party!
Thanks to everyone who weathered the storm to celebrate with us.

I have been wanting to have a candy buffet for a long time now so I took my chance when planning Nattie's party!

Her Elvis Impression :)

The kids took a break from the playing in the rain to do some arts and crafts before lunch.

Such a cute picture of Paige.

Lunchtime

YEAH...Cake!
I love the next series of pictures which shows Natalie thoroughly enjoying (and destroying) her birthday cake.

After clean-up, it was time for presents.

After the party, Nattie and I had an impromptu photo session with a bouquet of balloons.
These pictures capture her spirit and personality perfectly.

Happy 1st Birthday my sweet baby girl!
