Funny Phrases

Kids often have a special way of viewing the world and the way in which they phrase things is just too good not to be shared.  Here are some of the gems heard by Josh and I over the past month:

December 11th: I was explaining to the kids that Grandma and Grandpa were taking an airplane back home tomorrow and Nattie asked if Sadie was on the plane with them.

December 12th:  As I was laying in bed with Brady before bedtime, he said, "You're the best Mom I ever had."

December 19th: At Blazing Bagels today, I asked Brady how his lunch was and he responded, "I have no words."

December 20th:  "Josh come here for a minute." - Nattie

December 25th:  On Christmas Day, Brady was putting together legos with Josh.  When I walked passed, Brady said, "This is coming together rickity split."  Then a bit later he said, "We're making some good progress here Mom."

December 29th: "Mom, this is so sucks."  - Brady after taking a bite of dinner
After a bit of discussion, I learned that this means that it is really awesome

And we can't forget Nattie who refers to lettuce only as grass.

Christmas 2014

For those of you who follow this blog know that our Decembers are usually packed with fun traditions, as we get ready for Christmas. Here are a few pictures - or maybe closer to 100 :) - of our highlights.
Decorating Our Tree

 Redmond Lights

This spells trouble on so many levels.
The other day he told me that it was "his duty" to ride a motorcycle!

Bellevue Botanical Gardens
Garden d'Lights

Christmas Cookie Making Weekend

Our big helper and sampler

Jingle Bell Run
This year I convinced the whole family (including Arizona Grandma and Grandpa) to join me.  We walked the course but it was still a fun event to get everyone in the holiday spirit!

My little bunny stayed warm and cozy in her stroller.

Ready, Set, Go!

One of my favorite pictures

We did it!

Afterwards we walked around downtown to enjoy some of the other holiday activities, including viewing the gingerbread houses and the teddy bear suite.

Any guess what she did with all the candy?

The whole group hard at work

Santa Visit

Throughout this holiday season, Brady has been talking with Santa.  When he has something to tell him, he looks up to the sky and whispers like he is telling an imaginary friend a secret. I have also been told that Santa occasionally talks back.

Snowflake Lane

Our Elf Oscar
As usual, Oscar has been mischievous and found himself in some interesting positions.

Christmas Eve
Hurray for Christmas jammies!

Generally, the only time we take family photos is at Christmas time since we are all dressed up from Christmas Mass.  Immediately after these photos are taken, we all charge for the bathroom to change into our sweats and comfy clothes :)

The best one of the bunch

Christmas Morning
First view of all the gifts left by Santa under the tree.

That Santa (and his reindeers) are a well fed group!

Kids wasted no time when it was time to open their gifts!

Nattie took it upon herself to help everyone open their gifts.

Nattie's favorite gift of the morning!
Every time Elsa started singing, Nattie would get very serious, put on her "performance face" and dramatically walk towards the door while singing.  It had all of us cracking up!

After a little downtime, we headed over to Arizona Grandma and Grandpa's for more Christmas!

The girls ended our night on the perfect note with a performance of Taylor Swift songs.
