We celebrated Brady's 3rd birthday party at Woodland Park Zoo. He had a great time being the center of attention and we had fun visiting with all our friends and family who joined us. After lunch, cupcakes and presents, we spent the afternoon touring the zoo and checking out the animals. Despite the fact that we had snow the days leading up to and following the party, we were relieved when we had a cold but rain and snow-free day.
Waiting for his birthday celebration to begin!

I think this kind of defeats the purpose of renting a wagon, but then again, it kept them busy!
Apparently the birthday party was a success - B was out cold before we even got out of the parking lot!
Today Abi's room was transformed into a book store. She made some little books and set up a table to sell them. They were $1 each and she accepted cash or credit cards. She had 2 very satisfied customers!
Giving Brady some advice on selecting the best book.
We had a great but very busy Valentine's Day! Abi had several parties to attend - the first one was in her classroom and the second was a poster party at her play rehearsal. Here are some pictures from our day:

All of the kids in the play got t-shirts and posters. After rehearsal they had all their
fellow castmates sign the back of the play poster. It was cute to see
all the kids run around asking their friends for autographs.
Daddy: "Brady, today is the biggest football game of the year. It is a bit sad though because that means that football is over for the season - no more football games." Brady: "That is no fun. That is no fair."
This morning we went tubing at the Summit at Snoqualmie with the Worsley's. Luckily, we picked a great day and had awesome weather - temperature around 40 degrees, bright blue sky, sparkly white snow and sunshine!
As we were driving up the pass, I realized just how much I miss spending time in the mountains. As a kid, some of my fondest memories were of skiing - every Saturday, my friends and I would take "the ski bus" to local ski areas and spend the entire day exploring. These trips resulted in many great memories, lots of laughter and the creation of life long friendships. Of course, not all the days were as beautiful as today but regardless of the weather, we always had fun.
It is too easy to forget, and take for
granted, all the beauty that surrounds us, especially in our own
backyards. Today was a good reminder for me. Hopefully one day my kids will look back at these experiences with their own level of appreciation and happiness.
