Soccer

During the month of February, Abi took soccer classes at the YMCA. She had a really good time and did not seemed phased by the fact that she was the only girl in a class of 14 boys! She did a great job holding her own considering most boys in the class were at least a foot taller than her.

Pacific Science Center

Yesterday we headed to Seattle for a visit to the Pacific Science Center. I had not been there since I was a kid although not much has changed. It was still fun as an adult and as a parent, watching Abi play with the same things that I did. Of course, her favorite exhibit was the butterfly house which we visited more than once during the day.

We started off at Top Pot Doughnuts for a little breakfast with Daddy before he headed to work. Believe or not, this was Abi's first doughnut and she loved it! As we were driving in the car, she kept referring to doughnuts as coconuts. Josh and I could not figure out what she was talking about until she mentioned "chocolate and sprinkle coconuts".

"Mama"

Brady started talking this week! I was not only excited at the fact that he finally started babbling but also that his first word was "mama". He is also pretty good at "baba" which I have figured out means bottle. He is notorious for quickly becoming quiet once I take out the camera to record him so this is the best I could get on video -

In addition to reaching this milestone, Brady also accomplished many more feats over the last week including trying to eat a mouthful of dog food (I so wish I had my camera handy when he came crawling around the corner with so much dog food in his cheeks, he looked like a chipmunk!), knocking over 2 full garbage cans (and proceeding to investigate all the garbage), playing in the toilet water and successfully eating a mouthful of dirt!

...That's my boy! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a very busy and fun Valentine's weekend!

On Saturday, Abi and I had a girls day. We started off at a Recess Monkey's concert/recording session (they are one of her favorite bands!) Then we headed to BurgerMaster for lunch (Abi thought it was SO fun to sit in the front seat and eat her burger in the car) and then we were off to one her classmate's birthday party. We ended the day with a shopping trip to our favorite store...Target. A perfect day with my little girl!

Here are some pictures from all of our Valentine's Day fun...

Our Little Monkey

Josh and I have nicknamed Brady, our little monkey. Since he has been mobile, he has rarely stopped moving. If he is not crawling, you can usually find him trying to climb on something - usually this something is me, however he also loves to climb the stairs. We determined that it is definitely time to get a baby gate.

He fits the stereotypical definition of a boy just perfectly. I can't tell you how many times he has fallen or bumped his head. As I cringe and wait for the tears to begin, he usually sits up, looks around and heads off to find his next adventure. I have a feeling that we are in for some serious trouble in the next few months when he starts walking!

...and his wave.

This is a video of Brady's fake laugh. It makes me laugh for two reasons: 1) the unexpected burp in the middle of Brady's laugh and 2) Josh's expression. He looks just like Jim Halpert from 'The Office'.

Mariner Fan Fest

Over the weekend, we headed to Safeco Field for Mariner Fan Fest. We had a good time running the bases, touring the clubhouse, sitting in the dugout and even meeting the Mariner Moose (Abi's favorite event of the day!)

From the look on Brady's face, he isn't too impressed with all the festivities :)

Woodland Park Zoo

Last week, we bundled up and headed to the zoo. It was pretty cold out so it wasn't too crowded; which was fun because we got an up close and personal view of all the animals!

The gorilla was VERY interested in Abi's every move. I'm glad there was a thick piece of glass between the two of them because he looked like a pretty mean dude...SO fun to watch though!

I love Abi's supermodel pose in this picture.

And even B cooperated (thank goodness for comfy strollers)!
