Happy Father's Day!

"Daddy will tell me" - these are the words I hear from Abi every time she asks me a question and I tell her that I don't know the answer. It could be a very important question such as the name of the prince in Snow White or a tricky question such as the name of the dog that a stranger is walking in downtown Seattle. Lucky for us, Daddy is a pretty smart guy.

To celebrate Father's Day, we started off at Redhook Brewery for dinner...

Then we headed over to our friends for a Father's Day Brewfest. Despite the absolute CRAZY weather, we had a great time catching up with good friends and enjoying yummy food and beverages - thanks Jami and Colin for hosting a fun day!

And what would a Father's Day blog post be without some pictures of the kids?

Hey, who is this guy?

A Heat Advisory...Seriously???

It's hard to believe but last week we experienced a heat advisory...in Seattle....in June - now that's crazy! We had record temperatures in the 90s. We took full advantage and spent lots of time outdoors, enjoying the warm weather by heading to the beach, picnicking at the park, running through the sprinkler and exploring the zoo.

Trip to Lake Chelan

Last week, Abi, Brady and I headed over to Lake Chelan for a few days with Grandma and Grandpa. The weather was beautiful and it was a nice break from our normal routine at home - Abi got to go swimming, Brady slept for 8 straight hours one night (which made me VERY happy) and I even found some time to relax in the sun and read my book. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for a fun time! Here are some pictures from our trip:

Happy Mother's Day!

As with past years, we celebrated Mother's Day at Bellevue Botanical Gardens as well as Woodland Park Zoo. We had a great weekend enjoying the sun and spending time together.

I ♥ Cupcakes (and my hubby, too!)

Josh came home last night from New York. After a tough week with Abi and many sleepless nights with Brady, I was excited for his arrival. Not only did he surprise me by coming home one day earlier than scheduled, he brought me cupcakes from New York City (CRUMBS Bakery). They were the BEST cupcakes I have ever had....

Only problem is that nothing can compare so Josh is now obligated to have these cupcakes shipped from New York every year for my birthday!

The Wrath of a 3 Year Old

Abi was upset with me before I put her down for her nap/"quiet time" today because I disciplined her for throwing a temper tantrum. After an hour, I went up to her room and this is what I discovered...

Unfortunately, this picture does not even do it justice. It was mess - not only did she take out every toy and book in her room but also emptied every drawer and threw her clothes all over the floor. I'm not sure who coined the term, 'terrible twos' but for us, the threes are proving to be much more challenging!

To make matters worse, the night ended with a flooded bathroom - Abi standing in the middle of it with wet pants, Sadie drinking the toilet water and Josh on a business trip in New York. Needless to say, it was not a fun evening around the Doehne household.
